Incarnation
Christmas 2018 is just around the corner. At its core, Christmas is the birthday celebration of one of Christendom’s greatest mysteries – God sending his own Son as a baby, incarnate, in the likeness of sinful man to live among us – Emmanuel. We get a glimpse of the Incarnation from different lenses, angels and Adam, in Countdown To Adam.
Angels
Sometime deep in eternity past Heaven was shaken to its core when Lucifer led a Rebellion, taking a third of the angels with him. Adonai (Lord) responded by providing comfort and encouragement, giving his angels a glimpse of mysteries to unfold in their future.
Adonai continued, “On a note of sadness, I know many of you (angels) are still grieving over the loss of your comrades resulting from the Great Rebellion. I, too, share your grief, but I assure you Satan’s fall was not a surprise to me. But the Rebellion had to happen; it is part of a greater plan presently hidden from your view. You must trust that I know the plans I have for you; they are plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Your fallen comrades, unknowingly, will also play a very significant role in my plan to display my vast love for all of creation.
“For now, I have established Satan as king to rule over his own kingdom. He will continue to consolidate his wealth and power; a time will come when he will believe he is so strong that he will even try to tempt me, but he will fail. He will one day build a Babylon-on-Earth to extend the reach of his cosmic city, Gemini-babylon. His ultimate target and stronghold is Earth and the sons of Adam who will one day call Earth their home. His forces will be disruptive, utilizing every available tactic to unsettle and destroy my plans. Satan and his troops will engage you (angels) in skirmishes and battles, but it will be to no avail because I have given you authority over them. There may be times they appear to be victorious, but in the end, they will always be a defeated foe; never be discouraged; be strong and courageous.
“Each angel, who reflects so many of my traits, is very precious to me. You, who were once kept hidden in the secret places of my heart, were revealed in a single moment eons ago at the dawn of creation. Likewise, human image bearers, each of whom is currently known to me within my heart and recorded in my Book, will be revealed for all to witness, yet eons into the future. I love all my creation, especially angelic beings and sons of Adam. I have a plan to live with each, as their Emmanuel, for eternity. Presently you are traveling back and forth between Heaven and Earth; there will come a Day when I will bring both realms into a single place, where angels and sons and daughters of Adam will live together in everlasting harmony.”
Adam
Adam, who was born on Earth, moved into the Garden for a season, joined in Satan’s rebellion, was escorted to a place outside of the Garden, died, and was taken up into Heaven had a question for Adonai: “Then, why am I here in Paradise with you and the angels?”
Adam looked puzzled, “Then how is it that Eve and I are permitted to return to Paradise here in Heaven to once again fellowship with our Creator, yet Satan and his followers are denied that blessing?”
Wisdom, speaking on behalf of Adonai, replied, “Astute question, Adam! The answer can be found in books to be written about you, long after your lifetime. Your being here has everything to do with a special work of the person who often walked in the Garden with you, Adonai. Angels know him best as the Agent of Creation, the Son of God. Your holy books will refer to him as the Last Adam; that would make you the First Adam. The Son of God is to live on Earth in the form of a man, taking on a new nature, that of an Adamic ‘Image Bearer’. When you and Eve acted on the lie of the Serpent, sin and death entered the world, affecting all your progeny. The time will come when Gabriel will be sent to Earth with an important announcement to a virgin named Mary, living in the tiny town of Nazareth in the land of Israel. The Holy Spirit will plant his seed in her womb and she will bear a son; he will be named Jesus. So, the father of Jesus is Elohim, and his mother is the human, Mary. Therefore, Jesus will bear both titles, Son of God and Son of Man. This event will be known as the Incarnation. So, the reason you are here, and not with the rebel Satan, is because Jesus, the Agent of Creation, shall humble himself as a human baby, live a perfect, sinless human life, and ultimately become the sacrifice to remove the transgressions that weigh down the human race, thereby lifting the curse on mankind and creation. You are the beneficiary of the promised Advent; this event will be one of the greatest mysteries in human folklore.”
